The Pathology North Logo

The design of the Pathology North logo portrays a blood drop, symbolising pathology, and a free-scale network, representing Pathology North's vast networking capacity, capability and connectedness.

Free-scale networks are noteworthy. Many empirically observed networks appear to be free-scale, including the world-wide-web, protein networks, citation networks and some social networks. Networks maintain connectedness, guaranteed by the number and strength of the hubs.

NSW Health Pathology

Pathology North is one of the five Pathology Networks of NSW Health Pathology commencing on the 1st June 2012.

The networks:

  • Pathology North
  • Pathology West
  • South Eastern Area Laboratory Services
  • Sydney South West Pathology Service
  • Forensic & Analytical Science Service

The networks were formed due to pathology being a critical clinical service needing a sustainable model that delivers state-wide strategies and benefits, and clinical integration at a local level. Pathology North acts under the policies and guidelines of NSW Health Pathology.
